ABSTRACT
India is considered to be one of the biggest and largest shelter for about 16 percent of the population in the entire world but along with that India is also considered as the mainland home for many animals and plants. Wildlife is that area where the plants, animals and other organisms populate and develop which are mostly the non-domesticated animals as well as the plants unoccupied and unsettled by human beings. It can be established in almost all the ecosystems including the area of deserts, forests, fields and that have a distinct form. Despite the importance of wildlife in the lives of humans, as humans are evolving their quest for more and more economic demand and luxurious standard of life is increasing which is having a significant impact on the environment. Poaching is one of the major issues of wildlife conservation which is becoming a threat to the society. Poaching refers to the illegal sports of killing and shooting down the wildlife animals and trapping them for entertainment at the cost of environment. One of the main reasons for poaching of wildlife animals is for financial gain as these people from the body parts of animals especially for their skin kill them and sell them . Legally speaking poaching as a business is very much demanded by the present society and caused great loss to the environment. This research paper focuses on the issues and challenges faced for protection of wildlife and the to address the issue of pouching and the effects of it in the ecosystem. The research paper also addresses the judicial take on wildlife protection mainly focusing on pouching along with the constitutional provisions to safeguard the wildlife of India.
