A Study On The Morale Of Selling Liquor Near School In Chennai

ABSTRACT

This study is about the opening of liquor shops near to the school is morally wrong. This was one of the main problems in our society where students were influenced by the liquor shops when it was opened near to the school. It is fairly common for teens and college students to experiment with alcohol and drugs. The objective of the study is to know whether liquor shops can be opened near to the school, to find out the main disadvantage of the liquor shops when opened near to the school. The research method followed is empirical research. The data is collected through a questionnaire and a sample size is 200. Convenient sampling method is adopted in the study to collect the data. The samples were collected from in and around Chennai. The independent variables are age, gender, educational qualifications, marital status and occupation of the respondents. The dependent variables are the main disadvantage of the opening the liquor shops near to the school, whether liquor shops can be opened near to the school and whether school students are influenced by this. The researcher used the bar charts and Chi- Square test to analyze the data collected. The findings of the study is no liquor shops can be opened near to the school and the main disadvantage of the opening liquor shop near to the school is lack of concentration in the studies. By this we can conclude that the Government should make sure that alcohol shops should not be opened near to the school. They should think about the life of the students because they are going to rule the country in the future. And also the Government should ensure that alcohol should not be sold to the students and those who sell or abet or force the students to consume alcohol, enhanced punishment should be given to them.
