ABSTRACT:

This Paper deals with A study on: Issues on decriminalization of abortion in India. Abortion is the termination of a woman's pregnancy most often performed during the first 28 weeks of pregnancy. Decriminalisation means declaring a formerly illegal or criminal act to be legal. unsafe abortion which means is the termination of the pregnancy by people who have lacking of the knowledge, skills, . An unsafe abortion is a life threatening procedure. Abortion has been deemed criminal act to be legal and the certain exceptions for the particular situation is given in Medical Termination of Pregnancy Act, 2002. MTP act tells about the place where it can be carried out, persons who can conduct abortion, reason for with several restrictions. The decriminalization of abortion can be dealt with through the issue between Swati Agarwal, Garima Sekseria, Prachi Vats VS Union of India. The Supreme Court on issued notice to Centre in a Public Interest Litigation seeking decriminalization of abortion and declaration of right to complete autonomy of a woman to make decisions related to reproductive choices. Whether the decriminalisation of abortion creates a positive impact on the society- Is the major question raised in this paper. The research paper is based on Empirical Study and Random Sampling method has been used in this research paper, where responses were collected through survey method. Through survey method data are collected from the general public at large and results are derived from SPSS. The research paper has been resolved into elements and constituent parts not only but also the structure has been described and classified. The aim of the this research paper is to know about the recent issues of decriminalization of abortion in India
