A Study On Balochistan

Sheta Janvi Vinod, LL.B, Thakur Ramnarayan College of Law

INTRODUCTION

Balochistan, which is also spelled Baluchistan and Buluchestan, has been a historic region of western and South Asia situated at an altitude southeast of Iran plateau, adjacent to the India Plate and into the Arabian Sea. This harsh desert and mountain area is dominated by the indigenous Baloch people.

Balochistan is shared by three countries: Iran, Afghanistan, and Pakistan. Administratively, it includes the Pakistani province of Balochistan, the Iranian province of Sistan and Baluchestan, and Afghanistan's southern provinces of Nimruz, Helmand, and Kandahar. It is bounded to the north by the Khyber Paktunkhwa area, to the east by Sindh and Punjab, and to the west by Iranian territories. The Arabian Sea, namely the Makran Coast, washes its southern shore, especially the Makran Coast.
