ABSTRACT


The COVID-19 pandemic presented an unprecedented challenge to on international law, with a focus on key areas like public health law, human rights, trade law, and the law of the sea; it also examines the effectiveness of the World Health Organization's (WHO) International Health Regulations (IHR) and the controversies surrounding their implementation; it also examines the tensions between national sovereignty and international cooperation, particularly in the context of border closures, travel restrictions, and vaccine distribution; it evaluates the pandemic's implications for the protection of vulnerable populations, such as refugees, migrants, and displaced persons; and it evaluates the pandemic's effects on international economic relations.
