ABSTRACT


The administration of prisons in India has been a subject of significant concern due to the complex issues of overcrowding, human rights violations, and inadequate facilities. This research article explores the legal framework governing prisoners' rights and prison administration in India, examining the various laws, regulations, and judicial pronouncements that shape the country's penal system. The study also highlights the challenges faced by prison administrators, the role of the judiciary in safeguarding prisoners' rights, and the need for reforms to ensure a humane and effective prison system.
