A Legal Analysis On The Right To Education Of Minority People In Bangladesh With Special Reference To The Small Ethnic Groups

Rumana Sharmin Barsha1

ABSTRACT

Right to Education is one of the significant rights of human being. Many small ethnic groups, such as the Chakma, Marma, and Tripura, face significant challenges in accessing education due to language barriers, poverty, discrimination, and cultural norms. Education is a critical tool for empowering individuals and promoting social and economic development. However, the education system in Bangladesh is surrounded by low quality, inadequate resources, and limited access, particularly in rural areas. The situation is worse for minority communities, who often lack access to basic education services, such as schools, teachers, and textbooks. The government of Bangladesh has made efforts to promote education and ensure equal access to education for all. However, there is a need for more targeted interventions to address the challenges faced by minority people and SEGs in accessing education. This research aims to contribute to the ongoing dialogue on the right to education of minority people in Bangladesh and provide recommendations for promoting inclusive and equitable education policies and practices.
