ABSTRACT:
At Ancient times, a corrupt person was not considered as a desirable person. But now a days, corruption is not only considered as a granted one, but people with money are most respected by the society. Instead of fighting against the corruption, an uncorrupted individual in this system will become a corrupted person. Since long corruption and maladministration in India has repeatedly affect the country’s development. So the government of India has setup various statutory bodies to evade the social evil by Lokpal and Lokayukta. By the Lokpal and Lokayuktas Act of, 2013 established an institution like Lokpal for central and Lokayukta for state to investigate the allegations of corruption by public servants. This Article is an attempt to study about Lokpal and Lokayuktas and its struggling history of the Lokpal and Lokayuktas Act and its legal provisions, powers and functions and status of complaints received in Lokpal and Lokayuktas and at last complaints against various public servants. This article mainly examines the Inquiry and investigation of complaints received by Lokpal and Lokayuktas and complains registered against various categories of public servants and also nature of allegations in the complaints. This Article utilizes a mixed-methods approach which includes a systematic review of all relevant of literature as well as an analysis of the statutory bodies of corruption and its status.
