ABSTRACT
The rate of human trafficking across the country is constantly increasing. Many people fall prey to this crime, and this affects society as well as the person. Human trafficking is a heinous crime that violates basic human rights. Human sexual exploitation is a major source of worry for any government. Humans are trafficked for a variety of reasons, including sexual exploitation, bonded labor, domestic servant employment, drug trafficking, and a variety of other illicit activities. A variety of factors impact human trafficking, particularly among women and children. They are subjected to torture and objectification and are in a weaker position than the trafficker. This causes lots of new psychological problems for the victims. Human trafficking has a variety of different economic and social consequences. There are various provisions in the law order to protect the victims of human trafficking. The implementation and enforcement of the laws are lacking as most of the state authorities who have the responsibility to ensure that the number of trafficking cases is in control have neglected to fulfill their duty. Along with this, there is a lack of coordination between the government and the police when it comes to the rehabilitation and rescue of victims at ground level. Even with the presence of provisions in statutes as well as efforts from different disciplines, the number of cases is still on the rise. There is a need for efficient and appropriate changes in the law.
