A Critical Analysis Of Hate Speech And Mass Media

Apurv Goyal, Soumya Parwal & Raneeta Pal, Assistant Professor, Manipal University Jaipur

INTRODUCTION

In the present world, mass media plays an important role or necessary role to spread the information to each and every individual of any country in specific or of the world in whole. Mass media has developed itself from radio broadcast to social media such as Facebook, WhatsApp, etc. These media have made our communication process quick and efficient as well as effective. In traditional times, newspapers were the only source of news and now-a-days the news travels as fast as a missile. We get to know about the latest news in an hour or two and sometimes even live. With the help of social media, we not only get to know about the news but also, we can make a group and can talk for hours even sharing our pictures, important documents, videos, etc. The most amazing example for this developing technology is ‘work from home’. Most of the companies, even private or public, have started to give their employees work to do from home if they are unable to come to office. The meaning of the word ‘media’ does not restrict itself to the news channels but it also has a wide scope and covers various types of media in it. The requisite rule of everything in the world is that ‘it can be misused’, so does with mass media.
