Oishik Bhattacharya, Bharati Vidyapeeth deemed University, New Law College

ABSTRACT

A reward for an offender's good behaviour in jail, parole is a temporary or permanent release of the criminal before the conclusion of his term, according to the conditions outlined by the appropriate authority. The majority of nations have various forms of parole systems. Every nation has different eligibility requirements, parole release procedures, conditions, and methods of parolee supervision, but the goal of the parole system is always the same, which is to rehabilitate and reform inmates. The author has attempted to evaluate the shortcomings of the parole system in India as well as how the British experience may be taken into account and implemented into Indian Law to ensure the success of the Parole system.
